Schmuck Wins Gold In Australia
Victoria Team Logo 11 Jan, 2006 -- First year University of Victoria Vikes swimmer Anne Schmuck (White Rock, B.C.) won gold in the Junior (17-18) women's 200 metre backstroke at the Victorian State Age Group Swimming Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

Schmuck swam a personal best time of 2:19.09 to win the event, and her first gold medal of the competition.

The competition included junior national teams from the USA and Canada as well as over 70 club teams from Australia.

Schmuck returns home on Sunday after three weeks in Australia and will prepare for the Canada West University Championships in Vancouver later this month followed by the CIS Swimming Championships in Quebec City in February.
