Buydens wins bronze in Arizona
23 Oct, 2005 -- 2005 CIS gold medalist Megan Buydens won the bronze medal at the Sunkist International wrestling competition in Tempe, Arizona. Competing with the Canadian national team.
After successful opening bouts, Buydens advanced to the semi-finals where she met 2005 U.S. national champion and world bronze medalist Katie Downing. She lost to Downing, but wrestling back to win the bronze.
"Megan will likely meet up with Katie [Downing] again in the future and I like her chances," said Huskies head coach Todd Hinds. "Megan is an extremely smart wrestler and adjusts pretty much better than anyone that I have coached at the U of S. Megan is climbing in the international ranks and this is another challenge for her.

Megan Buydens will compete in two weeks time at the Clansmen International in Vancouver on Nov. 4 and 5. Check back to www.huskies.usask.ca for the how the Huskies do.
